What’s in a name?
The term “heartwood” might conger images of deep purple cedar or warm oak wood turned by a carpenter. It does in fact refer to the dense inner core of a tree trunk that results from transformation over time, strengthening the center of the tree and allowing the rest (sapwood) to continue growing.
Art, much like heartwood, is not always obvious on the surface. You may find more meaningful layers as you look deeper. It can reach us at our core – where we find beauty and joy. The making and medium can make just as much impact as the memory it depicts. Heartwood is highly sought after for its unique qualities and color – just like the art we love.
Heartwood Artistry began in 2017 with the mission to create authentic pieces that celebrate place, discovery, and memories.
